Counted with the browser's Performance API during the last job. It sees every request the page makes, but not what is inside them, so anything that is not a static download is counted above.

Bundle several files into one ZIP

Many forms allow a single attachment, and email is easier with one file than twenty. Create ZIP packs documents, photos and any other files into one archive that every operating system can open. You can add any file type, not just documents.

  • Packing photos to share through a file transfer service.

Pick a compression level

Faster (level 3) finishes quickest, Balanced (6) suits most files, and Smallest (9) squeezes a little more at the cost of time. Text, CSV and Word files shrink noticeably; JPG, PNG, MP4 and PDF files are already compressed and barely change at any level.

  • Unsure? Leave it on Balanced; the difference between levels is usually small.

Flat archive, no password

Files are stored side by side without folders, and two files with the same name would collide, so rename duplicates first. Password-protected ZIPs aren't supported. A ZIP won't make photos or PDFs meaningfully smaller; use Compress Image or Compress PDF for that.

Will zipping make my photos or PDFs smaller?

Barely. JPG, PNG, MP4 and most PDFs are already compressed. Use Compress Image or Compress PDF to shrink them; ZIP mainly helps with text, CSV and Office files.

Which compression level should I pick?

Balanced (6) for most uses. Smallest (9) saves a little more on text-heavy files but takes longer.

Can I password-protect the ZIP?

No. Password-protected ZIPs aren't supported.

Are folders kept?

No. Files are stored side by side, so rename any that share a name before adding them.

Are my files uploaded to create the ZIP?

No. The archive is built in your browser from files on your device.
