Counted with the browser's Performance API during the last job. It sees every request the page makes, but not what is inside them, so anything that is not a static download is counted above.

To check yourself: open DevTools → Network, clear the list, run the tool, and inspect each request. None will contain your file. You can also switch to offline after the page loads; tools whose engine is already downloaded keep working.

Combine several PDFs into one file in the order you choose

Portals and offices often want a single PDF: a visa or loan application that asks for six months of bank statements, a university form that wants transcripts and certificates together, or an expense claim with all receipts in one attachment. Merge PDF copies every page of each file, in the order shown in the list, into one new document.

  • Joining monthly bank statements or salary slips into one document for a visa, loan or rental application.
  • Putting a cover letter, CV and certificates into a single job-application PDF.
  • Combining separately scanned front and back pages or chapters into one file.
  • Collecting invoices or receipts for one expense claim.

The only setting that matters is file order

Add at least two PDFs and drag each file into place (or focus its handle and use the arrow keys); the first file in the list becomes the first pages of the merged PDF. Pages are copied as they are, so text stays selectable and scans keep their original quality. Nothing is re-compressed, which also means the merged file is roughly the combined size of the inputs.

  • Name files with a number prefix (01-statement.pdf, 02-statement.pdf) before adding them to make ordering easier.
  • If a single file has pages in the wrong order, fix that file first with Organize PDF or Reverse PDF Pages.
  • If a scanned page is sideways, rotate that file first; merging keeps each page's existing rotation.

What merging keeps and what it drops

Page content, text and images are carried over unchanged. Bookmarks (the outline panel) from the source files are not recreated, and fillable form fields may stop working in the merged copy, so fill forms and save or print them to PDF before merging. Password-protected PDFs need the password removed first.

  • Check the page count: it should equal the sum of the page counts of all inputs.
  • Scroll through the joins between files to confirm the order.
  • If the merged file is over an upload limit, run it through Compress PDF.
  • Keep the separate originals until the merged file has been accepted.

Merge PDF: questions

Will merging PDFs reduce quality?

No. Pages are copied as they are, without re-rendering or re-compressing, so text stays selectable and scans keep their original resolution.

How do I change the order of the files?

Drag the handle on the left of each file (or focus it and press the up and down arrow keys). The file at the top of the list becomes the first pages of the merged PDF. To reorder individual pages after merging, use Organize PDF.

Why is the merged PDF so large?

Merging doesn't compress anything, so the result is roughly the sum of the input sizes. Run it through Compress PDF if you need it smaller.

Are bookmarks and form fields kept?

Bookmarks from the source files aren't recreated, and fillable fields may stop working. Fill in forms and save them as flat PDFs before merging if the filled values matter.

Is there a limit on how many PDFs I can merge?

There's no fixed limit on the number of files; the practical limit is your device's memory. Dozens of ordinary documents are fine on a laptop. Very large scans work better on a desktop than a phone.

Are my PDFs uploaded to be merged?

No. The files are combined in your browser, so bank statements and certificates stay on your device.
