JPG to PDF

Government, university and bank portals frequently accept only PDF, while phones save photos and scans as JPG. JPG to PDF puts one or many JPGs into a single document in the order you pick, ready to upload or email. It works the same for a single photo of a cheque as for a 30-page stack of photographed notes.

• Converting photos of citizenship, passport or ID pages into one PDF for an application.
• Combining photographed pages of a marksheet, transcript or passbook.
• Making a PDF of receipts for an expense claim.
• Turning a single JPG scan into a PDF for a portal that rejects images.

The order in the list becomes the page order. Each JPG is placed on a page the same size as the image, and the JPG data is embedded without re-compression, so the quality you see is the quality you get and the PDF is roughly the combined size of the photos.

• Crop out backgrounds and fingers first with Crop Image; it makes documents easier to read.
• If the PDF will be too big for the portal, resize or compress the JPGs first, or compress the finished PDF.
• Photos from a scanning app are usually already cropped and flattened; they work best.
• There are no margins or A4 fitting: each page takes its photo's shape, so a well-cropped document photo gives a document-shaped page.

Some phones mark a photo's orientation with a tag instead of rotating it, and a JPG like that can appear sideways inside the PDF even though it looks fine in your gallery. Fix it with Rotate Image, which bakes the orientation into the pixels, then convert again.

• Check every page is upright and in order.
• Zoom into small text and numbers.
• Confirm the file size is under the portal's limit before uploading.
• Printing? Choose "Fit to page" in the print dialog, since pages follow the photo size rather than A4.
