Counted with the browser's Performance API during the last job. It sees every request the page makes, but not what is inside them, so anything that is not a static download is counted above.

To check yourself: open DevTools → Network, clear the list, run the tool, and inspect each request. None will contain your file. You can also switch to offline after the page loads; tools whose engine is already downloaded keep working.

XLSX → JSON

Choose one XLSX file with a header row. The first worksheet is converted to JSON.

Get Excel data into an app, API or script

Web apps, APIs, test fixtures and no-code tools usually want JSON, while the data arrives as an Excel file. XLSX to JSON reads the first worksheet, takes the first row as field names and turns every row after it into one object, so a price list or contact sheet becomes an array you can paste straight into code.

  • Seeding a database or mock API from a spreadsheet someone shared.
  • Feeding a product, price or translation sheet into a website build.
  • Checking what a spreadsheet looks like to code before you write an importer.

Typed values, not just text

Unlike going through CSV, numbers stay numbers and TRUE/FALSE stay booleans. Formulas give their calculated value, dates become ISO 8601 strings (2026-10-02T00:00:00.000Z), and empty cells become null so every object has the same keys. Blank header cells are named column_1, column_2 and so on, and repeated headers get _2, _3.

First sheet, one header row

Only the first worksheet is converted, and the first row must hold the field names; titles or notes above the table end up as keys. Merged cells keep their value in the first cell only. Rows that are completely empty are skipped.

  • Move the sheet you need to the first tab before converting.
  • Check IDs with leading zeros: Excel may already have stored them as numbers.

XLSX to JSON: questions

What does the JSON look like?

An array with one object per row. The keys come from the first row, for example [{"name": "Blue", "price": 12.5}]. Every object has the same keys; empty cells are null.

Are numbers and dates kept?

Numbers and TRUE/FALSE keep their type. Dates are written as ISO 8601 strings, and formula cells give their calculated value.

Can it convert every sheet in the workbook?

It converts the first worksheet. Move the sheet you need to the first tab in Excel, save, and convert again.

My headers are on row 3. What happens?

The first row is always used as the keys, so delete the title rows above the table first, or the title text becomes a key.

Is the spreadsheet uploaded?

No. The workbook is read and converted in this browser tab.
