Render PDF pages as sharp, lossless images

PNG keeps hard edges crisp, so it suits pages with small text, line drawings, charts, UI screenshots and tables. Designers use it to drop a page into a mock-up, and teachers to put a worksheet into slides. It's also the better choice when you'll crop or edit the page image later, because PNG doesn't lose detail each time it's saved.

  • Putting a chart or diagram from a report into a presentation.
  • Capturing a form or table page where JPG artefacts would blur thin lines.
  • Getting a page image to annotate in a drawing app.

One PNG per page

Pages are rendered at about one and a half times their PDF size and saved as page-001.png, page-002.png and so on. A single page downloads directly; multi-page PDFs come as a ZIP.

  • For photos or scanned pages, PDF to JPG gives much smaller files with similar visible quality.
  • An A4 page comes out at roughly 890 × 1260 pixels.

Expect bigger files than JPG

PNG is lossless, so scanned or photo-heavy pages can produce large files. The images contain no selectable text. If an upload limit is tight, convert with PNG to JPG or Compress Image.

Should I choose PNG or JPG?

PNG for pages with small text, line art, charts or screenshots; JPG for scans and photos, where it gives much smaller files that look nearly the same.

Are transparent backgrounds kept?

Pages are rendered as they appear in a viewer. Areas the PDF leaves blank can come out transparent, which looks white in most apps.

Why are the PNG files so large?

PNG is lossless, so pages full of photos or scanned texture produce big files. Convert with PNG to JPG if size matters.

How are multi-page PDFs delivered?

As one ZIP with page-001.png, page-002.png and so on. Single-page PDFs download as one PNG.
