Where Adobe Acrobat is better
Worth knowing before you switch. Use whichever fits the job.
- Converting PDF to Word, Excel or PowerPoint, and Office files to PDF. PandaFileKit doesn't do these yet.
- Editing the existing text of a PDF. PandaFileKit adds text and images on top of a page but can't rewrite what's there.

Every tool shows a network meter while it works, counting the bytes sent to a server. You can also open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab and run a job: no request carries your file, because there is no upload endpoint to send it to.

Is PandaFileKit really free, or is there a trial?
It is free with no trial, no account and no paid plan. The site is supported by ads and by readers who choose to chip in.
Is it safe for confidential PDFs?
The file is processed by your own browser and is never sent to a server, so there is no copy to leak or delete later. Each tool shows a network meter while it works, and the About page explains how to confirm in your browser's developer tools that no request carries your file.
Can I edit the text that's already in my PDF?
Not yet. Edit PDF adds new text, images and signatures on top of a page. For rewriting existing paragraphs, Acrobat or a desktop editor is still the right tool.
Does it work on a phone or a Mac?
Yes. It runs in any modern browser on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. Large files work best on a computer, because everything happens in your device's memory.
