Counted with the browser's Performance API during the last job. It sees every request the page makes, but not what is inside them, so anything that is not a static download is counted above.
To check yourself: open DevTools → Network, clear the list, run the tool, and inspect each request. None will contain your file. You can also switch to offline after the page loads; tools whose engine is already downloaded keep working.

Turn a multi-page PDF into one file per page
Split PDF is for when every page needs to stand on its own: a scanned stack of forms where each page belongs to a different person, a batch of invoices exported as one PDF, or a portal that wants each certificate uploaded separately. You get one PDF per page, packed into a single ZIP so the download is one click. If you only need a handful of pages, Extract PDF Pages is quicker, because you get one file instead of a ZIP to sort through.
- Separating a batch scan of documents into individual files.
- Uploading certificates or marksheets one by one to a form that has a separate field for each.
- Sending one page of a contract or statement without sharing the rest.
- Preparing pages for reordering or recombining later with Merge PDF.
Every page becomes its own PDF
There are no settings: the tool always splits after every page. Files are named page-001.pdf, page-002.pdf and so on, so they stay in order when sorted by name. Pages are copied without re-rendering, so text remains selectable and quality is unchanged.
- Need a range such as pages 3–7 as one file? Use Extract PDF Pages instead.
- Need to drop only a few pages? Delete PDF Pages keeps everything else in one file.
- Unzip the download with your computer's or phone's built-in file manager.
- Each page file keeps its original page size and orientation.
- A 100-page PDF produces 100 files; for long documents where you need only a few pages, extract ranges instead.
Page files can add up to more than the original
Each page file carries its own copy of the fonts and images it uses, so the ZIP can be larger than the source PDF, especially for text documents that share one embedded font. That is normal. Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first.
- Check the number of files in the ZIP matches the page count of the original.
- Open the first and last page files to confirm nothing was skipped.
- Rename the files you actually need before uploading them anywhere.
- Links that jump to other pages and the bookmark panel don't carry over to single-page files.
Split PDF: questions
Can I split a PDF into page ranges instead of single pages?
Split PDF always creates one file per page. For a range such as pages 1–5 as one file, use Extract PDF Pages once per range.
Why is the ZIP bigger than my original PDF?
Each page file carries its own copy of the fonts and images it uses, which the original shared across pages. That's normal and doesn't affect quality.
How are the split files named?
page-001.pdf, page-002.pdf and so on, so they sort in order in any file manager.
Does splitting reduce quality?
No. Pages are copied without re-rendering, so text and images are unchanged.
How do I open the ZIP on a phone?
Both Android's Files app and the iPhone Files app can open ZIP files: tap the ZIP to extract it into a folder.
