Counted with the browser's Performance API during the last job. It sees every request the page makes, but not what is inside them, so anything that is not a static download is counted above.
To check yourself: open DevTools → Network, clear the list, run the tool, and inspect each request. None will contain your file. You can also switch to offline after the page loads; tools whose engine is already downloaded keep working.

Cut an image down to the part you need
Photos of documents usually include a table, fingers or shadows around the page, and profile photos often need to be tighter around the face. Crop Image lets you drag a box or enter exact pixel values to keep just the area you want. Cropping also removes things you don't want to share, such as other documents on the table or a reflection, before a photo goes into an application.
- Trimming the background from a photographed certificate or ID card before converting it to PDF.
- Framing a face tightly for a profile or application photo.
- Cutting a screenshot down to the relevant message or error.
- Preparing a 16:9 thumbnail or a 9:16 story image from a wider photo.
Drag the box or type exact pixels
Aspect presets (Square, 4:3, 16:9 and 9:16 Story) keep the box in a fixed shape while you drag; Free lets you draw any rectangle. X and Y set the top-left corner in pixels, and width and height set the box size, which is useful when a form states exact dimensions.
- Crop to the required ratio here, then use Image Resizer to reach exact pixel dimensions.
- Leave a little space around documents so edges aren't clipped.
- The crop is cut from the full-resolution image, not the on-screen preview, so the output keeps full detail.
- Cropping never enlarges: to hit an exact pixel size after cropping, finish in Image Resizer.
Output is PNG
Cropped images are saved as PNG to avoid adding another round of JPG compression. For photos, that PNG can be larger in KB than the original JPG even though it is smaller in pixels; convert it with PNG to JPG or Compress Image if a size limit applies.
- Check nothing important was cut at the edges.
- Check the final file type the form accepts.
Crop image: questions
How do I crop to exact pixel dimensions?
Type the X and Y position of the top-left corner and the width and height in pixels, instead of dragging.
Why is my cropped image bigger in KB?
Crops are saved as PNG, which is lossless and larger than JPG for photos. Convert with PNG to JPG or Compress Image if you have a size limit.
How do I crop a photo to a square?
Choose the Square preset and drag the box over the part you want. For an automatic centre crop, use Make Image Square.
Can I crop to 16:9 or a phone story size?
Yes. Use the 16:9 or 9:16 Story preset to lock the box to that shape.
