Counted with the browser's Performance API during the last job. It sees every request the page makes, but not what is inside them, so anything that is not a static download is counted above.
To check yourself: open DevTools → Network, clear the list, run the tool, and inspect each request. None will contain your file. You can also switch to offline after the page loads; tools whose engine is already downloaded keep working.

Make a photo that passes an online form's automatic checks
Visa, passport, job and exam portals check uploaded photos by machine: exact pixel dimensions, a file size between a minimum and a maximum KB, JPG format, and often a plain light background. A phone photo fails most of those. This tool crops your photo to the portal's shape, resizes it to the required pixels and searches JPG quality until the file lands inside the KB range.
- US visa (DS-160) and DV lottery: square, 600 × 600 px, 240 KB or less.
- UK passport online, Schengen visa, Canada IRCC and Australian passport photos.
- A job portal that only says "recent passport-style photo" (a 400 × 500 px, 200 KB default).
- Exam and recruitment portals such as SSC, UPSC, IBPS and NEET in India or Lok Sewa in Nepal.
Preset, framing, background and caption
Pick the form from the list. Each preset shows its pixel size, KB range, background rule and where the rule comes from, with a link to the official page when there is one. Drag the frame and pull a corner to zoom until your face sits in the oval guide, which reflects the head size that preset expects. A checklist beside the photo tracks pixel size, file size, format, whether your crop has enough detail, and the background rule. White background replaces the background on export (a 26 MB model downloads once). Name and date adds a printed strip under the photo for forms that require one. Maximum file size overrides the preset when your notice gives a different limit.
- If even top quality is under a portal's minimum KB, blank comment data is added to reach it; the picture itself is unchanged and the notes say so.
- If it can't get under the maximum, crop tighter or use a plainer background.
- Nepal's Lok Sewa publishes no pixel or KB rule, so that preset is a safe passport-size default.
Presets are a starting point; the current notice decides
Portals change their rules between notices and years, and a preset can't know about last week's change. Check the current notice or the official photo page before you submit, and use its numbers where they differ. The tool gets size, format and file size right; it can't judge expression, glasses, shadows, lighting or how recent the photo is, which official rules also cover.
- Confirm the result panel shows pixels and KB inside the limits.
- Look closely at hair edges if you replaced the background.
- Keep the original photo in case the portal asks for a different size.
Photo resizer for online forms: questions
Which forms have presets?
US visa and DV lottery, UK passport online, Schengen visa, Canada visa and passport, Australian passport, a general job-portal photo, and exam portals in India (SSC, UPSC, IBPS, NEET) and Nepal (Lok Sewa). Each preset shows its source.
The portal's numbers differ from the preset. Which should I use?
The portal's. Rules change between notices. Set Maximum file size to the notice's limit, and if the pixel size differs, choose a preset with the same shape or resize the result.
Why is the photo too small in KB even at top quality?
Some portals set a minimum size, and a small, plain photo can compress below it. The tool then adds blank comment data inside the JPG to reach the minimum; the picture itself doesn't change, and the notes tell you.
Can it make the background white?
Yes. Turn on White background. A background-removal model (about 26 MB) downloads once and runs on your device. Check hair edges afterwards.
Can I add my name and date under the photo?
Yes. Fill in Name and Date; they are printed in a strip under the photo, which some exam forms require. Leave them empty to skip.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Cropping, background replacement and compression all happen in your browser.
