Counted with the browser's Performance API during the last job. It sees every request the page makes, but not what is inside them, so anything that is not a static download is counted above.
To check yourself: open DevTools → Network, clear the list, run the tool, and inspect each request. None will contain your file. You can also switch to offline after the page loads; tools whose engine is already downloaded keep working.

Make a 1:1 image for profiles and product grids
Profile pictures, marketplace listings and many form photo fields expect a square image and will crop anything else unpredictably. Make Image Square gives you control by producing a centred square first. Doing it yourself also avoids a site's automatic crop cutting off a chin or a product edge.
- Preparing a profile photo or avatar.
- Making product photos line up in a square grid.
- Getting a square base before resizing to 600 × 600 or another required size.
Centre crop to the shorter side
The square's side equals the image's shorter side, and it is taken from the exact centre. A 4000 × 3000 photo becomes 3000 × 3000. No padding or background is added.
- If your subject isn't centred, use Crop Image with the Square preset and position the box yourself.
Check heads and edges
Centre cropping can cut off the top of a head in portrait photos or the ends of a wide product. Output is PNG; resize and compress afterwards to hit a form's pixel and KB requirements.
Make image square: questions
Which part of the image is kept?
The centre. The square's side equals the shorter side of your image.
Can I add white borders instead of cropping?
No. This tool crops; it doesn't pad.
How do I choose which part to keep?
Use Crop Image with the Square preset and position the box yourself.
How do I make a 600 × 600 profile photo?
Make it square here, then set 600 in Image Resizer with the aspect ratio locked.
