Counted with the browser's Performance API during the last job. It sees every request the page makes, but not what is inside them, so anything that is not a static download is counted above.
To check yourself: open DevTools → Network, clear the list, run the tool, and inspect each request. None will contain your file. You can also switch to offline after the page loads; tools whose engine is already downloaded keep working.

How to make a JPG PDF under 500 KB
Add the photos in order and create the PDF. Phone photos are several megabytes each, so they are scaled down and re-saved at the highest quality that keeps the PDF under 500 KB. Up to about ten pages stay sharp enough to read comfortably.
Step by step
- 01Add the photos.
- 02Put them in page order.
- 03Create the PDF; 500 KB is set.
- 04Check the size and readability.
Why a 12-megapixel photo doesn't need to stay 12 megapixels
A page on screen or printed on A4 is readable at far fewer pixels than a phone camera captures. Scaling to about 1,500–2,000 pixels on the long edge keeps text crisp while cutting the file size to a fraction.
How "500 KB" is counted
This page aims at 500,000 bytes or less. Upload forms disagree on what 500 KB means: some count 500,000 bytes, others 512,000 (1 KB = 1,024 bytes). A file of 500,000 bytes or less passes either rule, so you can type the limit exactly as the form writes it. The result shows the exact byte count. Windows File Explorer counts in 1,024s, so the same file can read slightly smaller there.
