Counted with the browser's Performance API during the last job. It sees every request the page makes, but not what is inside them, so anything that is not a static download is counted above.
To check yourself: open DevTools → Network, clear the list, run the tool, and inspect each request. None will contain your file. You can also switch to offline after the page loads; tools whose engine is already downloaded keep working.

Add photos of each page, taken from above on a darker surface. HEIC from iPhone works.
How to make a photo look like a scan
Photograph each page from above on a darker surface, add all the photos, and check the four corner handles on each page. The page is straightened with a perspective correction, lighting and shadows are evened out so the paper turns white, and all pages are saved in order into one PDF. Choose black and white for the crispest text and the smallest file.
Step by step
- 01Photograph each page from above, on a darker, plain surface.
- 02Add the photos in page order (drag to reorder).
- 03Check each page's corners; drag a handle if the edge was missed.
- 04Pick colour, grayscale or black and white, and A4, Letter or fit.
- 05Download the PDF.
Photos that scan well
Even daylight, no flash, the whole page in view, and the phone parallel to the paper. A dark table gives the edge detector a clear border; on a white table, drag the corners yourself.
- Black and white mode is best for forms, contracts and printed text.
- Grayscale keeps pencil and stamps readable.
- Colour keeps logos, highlighter and signatures in ink colour.
Size of the PDF
Pages are stored at up to 3508 px on the long side (A4 at 300 DPI). Black-and-white pages are stored losslessly and colour or grayscale pages as JPG at 85% quality, so text-only documents are usually smallest in black and white. If a portal needs a smaller file, run the result through Compress PDF.

Are my documents uploaded?
No. Edge detection, straightening and the PDF are all made in this browser tab.
