Counted with the browser's Performance API during the last job. It sees every request the page makes, but not what is inside them, so anything that is not a static download is counted above.
To check yourself: open DevTools → Network, clear the list, run the tool, and inspect each request. None will contain your file. You can also switch to offline after the page loads; tools whose engine is already downloaded keep working.

Get any audio file into a format that plays everywhere
Voice memos come as M4A, recorders save WAV, music archives use FLAC, and WhatsApp voice notes are OGG or Opus. Car stereos, older players, editing apps and upload forms usually want MP3. The audio converter turns any of them into MP3, M4A or WAV, and can keep just part of the recording.
- iPhone Voice Memos (M4A) to MP3 for any device.
- Large WAV recordings to small MP3s for sharing.
- FLAC music to MP3 for phones and car stereos.
MP3, M4A or WAV
MP3 is encoded at 192 kbps, which sounds transparent to most listeners and plays on everything. M4A copies AAC audio untouched when the source is already AAC, otherwise encodes AAC at 192 kbps. WAV is uncompressed 16-bit PCM, large but ideal for editing. Drag the handles on the waveform to keep only part.
- WAV is about 10 MB per minute of stereo; MP3 at 192 kbps is about 1.4 MB.
Browser support and quality
Decoding happens in your browser: Chrome, Edge and Firefox read FLAC, OGG and Opus; Safari may not read OGG or Opus. Converting one lossy format to another (M4A to MP3) loses a little quality each time, so convert from the original file when you can. Files with DRM, such as some older iTunes purchases, can't be converted.
Audio converter: questions
How do I convert M4A to MP3?
Add the M4A file, keep MP3 selected and press Save audio. It's encoded at 192 kbps in your browser.
What quality is the MP3?
192 kbps, which sounds transparent to most listeners. Converting from a lossy file like M4A loses a little quality, so use the original when you can.
Can I convert only part of a file?
Yes. Drag the handles on the waveform to select the part you want before saving.
Why won't my OGG file open?
Decoding depends on the browser. Chrome, Edge and Firefox read OGG and Opus; Safari may not. Try another browser.
Is my audio uploaded?
No. It's decoded and encoded in this browser tab.
