Counted with the browser's Performance API during the last job. It sees every request the page makes, but not what is inside them, so anything that is not a static download is counted above.
To check yourself: open DevTools → Network, clear the list, run the tool, and inspect each request. None will contain your file. You can also switch to offline after the page loads; tools whose engine is already downloaded keep working.

How to extract audio without losing quality
Phone and camera videos almost always store their sound as AAC. Saving as M4A copies that AAC data straight into an audio-only file, so the sound is bit-for-bit identical and it finishes in seconds. If the video uses another codec (WebM usually has Opus), it's re-encoded to AAC at 192 kbps instead.
Step by step
- 01Drop the video. M4A is selected.
- 02Optionally drag the handles to keep only part.
- 03Press Extract audio and download.
Which format to choose
M4A for the original quality and small size, MP3 for old players and car stereos, WAV for editing in an audio app.
- WAV is uncompressed: about 10 MB per minute of stereo.
- M4A plays on iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac.
Questions
Is M4A really lossless here?
When the source audio is AAC, yes: the audio packets are copied, not re-encoded.
My video has no sound. What happens?
The tool tells you there's no audio track to extract.
Is the video uploaded?
No. The audio is extracted in your browser.
