Counted with the browser's Performance API during the last job. It sees every request the page makes, but not what is inside them, so anything that is not a static download is counted above.

To check yourself: open DevTools → Network, clear the list, run the tool, and inspect each request. None will contain your file. You can also switch to offline after the page loads; tools whose engine is already downloaded keep working.

Choose one video: MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV, up to 2 GB. It is read from your disk, never uploaded.

How the 10 MB target works

Size = bitrate × length. The tool takes 94% of 10 MB, subtracts room for the MP4 container and the audio, divides by the duration and encodes at that bitrate. It then reads the real size, and if it went over, encodes once more at a proportionally lower bitrate.

Step by step

  1. 01Drop the video.
  2. 02Optional: remove audio or cap the resolution.
  3. 03Press Compress video and download the MP4.

Rough guide

10 MB holds about 30–60 seconds at 720p with sound, and several minutes at 480p. Longer than that, trim first.

How "10 MB" is counted

This page aims at 10,000,000 bytes or less. Upload forms disagree on what 10 MB means: some count 10,000,000 bytes, others 10,485,760 (1 MB = 1,024 × 1,024 bytes). A file of 10,000,000 bytes or less passes either rule, so you can type the limit exactly as the form writes it. The result shows the exact byte count. Windows File Explorer counts in 1,024s, so the same file can read slightly smaller there.

Questions

Will it be exactly 10 MB?

It aims just under. Video encoders can't hit an exact byte count, so the result lands somewhat below 10 MB; if a first pass overshoots, it is re-encoded once at a lower bitrate.

Which formats can I use?

MP4, MOV, M4V, WebM and MKV. AVI, WMV and FLV are not supported.

Is anything uploaded?

No. The video is processed by your browser.
