Counted with the browser's Performance API during the last job. It sees every request the page makes, but not what is inside them, so anything that is not a static download is counted above.
To check yourself: open DevTools → Network, clear the list, run the tool, and inspect each request. None will contain your file. You can also switch to offline after the page loads; tools whose engine is already downloaded keep working.

Specific jobsMute video (remove audio)
Cut a video down to the part that matters, or silence it
Phone recordings usually start too early and run too long. Trim video cuts the start and end so you share only the moment that matters, and can remove the sound at the same time, or on its own. A shorter clip also compresses far better if you need to meet a size limit afterwards.
- Cutting a game highlight, a goal or a meeting excerpt before sharing it.
- Removing the fumbling at the start and end of a phone recording.
- Muting background chatter or music before posting a clip.
- Shortening a video before Compress video or Video to GIF.
Handles, Fast or Exact, and Remove audio
Drag the handles on the timeline, or use the keyboard: Space plays, comma and full stop step one frame, I and O set the start and end at the playhead, and the arrow keys nudge a selected handle (Shift for one second). Fast mode, the default, copies the video without re-encoding, so quality is identical and it takes seconds; but a copied clip must start on a keyframe, so the start can move back by up to a few seconds, and the shaded part of the timeline shows where it will really begin. Exact re-encodes so the clip starts on the frame you chose; it is slower and loses a very slight amount of quality. Remove audio saves the video silent; leave the handles at the ends to mute without cutting.
- Fast mode keeps the container: MP4 and MOV come out as MP4, WebM as WebM, MKV as MKV.
- Muting in Fast mode leaves the picture bit-for-bit unchanged.
Check the first second
Play the start of the saved clip: in Fast mode it can include a moment before your chosen start, so switch to Exact if that matters. Exact needs your browser to decode the video; if it can't, Fast mode still works. MP4, MOV, M4V, WebM and MKV files up to 2 GB open; AVI, WMV and FLV don't.
- Check the duration in the result matches what you selected.
- Need it smaller too? Run the clip through Compress video.
Trim video: questions
Why does my clip start a little earlier than I set?
Fast mode copies the video without re-encoding, and a copied clip has to start on a keyframe, which can be up to a few seconds before your start. The shaded part of the timeline shows where. Switch to Exact for a frame-accurate start.
Does trimming reduce quality?
Not in Fast mode: the video is copied untouched. Exact mode re-encodes, which loses a very slight amount of quality.
How do I remove the sound without cutting anything?
Turn on Remove audio and leave the handles at the start and end, then save. The picture is copied unchanged.
What format is the trimmed video?
In Fast mode, MP4 and MOV come out as MP4, WebM as WebM and MKV as MKV.
Is my video uploaded?
No. The clip is cut in your browser.
