Counted with the browser's Performance API during the last job. It sees every request the page makes, but not what is inside them, so anything that is not a static download is counted above.
To check yourself: open DevTools → Network, clear the list, run the tool, and inspect each request. None will contain your file. You can also switch to offline after the page loads; tools whose engine is already downloaded keep working.

Turn AVIF into a lossless PNG you can edit
PNG is accepted by almost every editor and keeps transparency, so AVIF to PNG suits graphics, icons and cut-outs saved from websites that you want to edit or reuse without adding another round of lossy compression.
- Editing an AVIF logo or icon in an app that can't open AVIF.
- Keeping the transparent background of a cut-out image.
- Converting images for slides, documents or design tools.
No quality setting
PNG is lossless, so the image is stored exactly as decoded. Expect the PNG to be much larger than the AVIF, especially for photos; for photos where size matters, AVIF to JPG is the better choice.
Same pixels, bigger file
Converting to PNG doesn't restore detail the AVIF compression removed. Animated AVIF files are saved as one still frame.
- Check transparency looks right on both light and dark backgrounds.
AVIF to PNG: questions
Is the transparency kept?
Yes. PNG supports transparency, so transparent areas stay transparent.
Why is the PNG so large?
PNG is lossless and doesn't compress photos well. For photos, AVIF to JPG gives a much smaller file.
What about animated AVIF?
Only one still frame is saved.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser.
