Counted with the browser's Performance API during the last job. It sees every request the page makes, but not what is inside them, so anything that is not a static download is counted above.
To check yourself: open DevTools → Network, clear the list, run the tool, and inspect each request. None will contain your file. You can also switch to offline after the page loads; tools whose engine is already downloaded keep working.

How to remove GPS location from a photo
Drop the photo and save. GPS coordinates are removed along with all other EXIF, XMP and IPTC metadata, such as camera model and date. For JPG, PNG and WebP the image data is copied byte for byte, so quality doesn't change; only the orientation flag is kept so photos stay upright. HEIC photos are re-saved as JPG.
Step by step
- 01Drop one or more photos.
- 02Check the location the tool shows it found.
- 03Save the cleaned copies and share those instead of the originals.
When location matters
Phones store the exact place a photo was taken unless location is turned off for the camera. Most social networks strip this on upload, but many other ways of sharing don't.
- Email attachments.
- Cloud-storage share links.
- Messaging apps when you send the photo as a file or document.
- Marketplace and classifieds listings, especially photos taken at home.
Lossless for JPG, PNG and WebP
Only the metadata blocks are dropped; the compressed image data is copied unchanged, so there's no extra compression and the file is usually a little smaller. HEIC is the exception: it's re-saved as a JPG so it can be cleaned and opened anywhere.
Questions
How do I know if my photo has a location?
Drop it here. The tool shows any GPS coordinates it finds before removing them.
Does removing metadata reduce quality?
Not for JPG, PNG or WebP: the image bytes are copied as they are. HEIC photos are converted to JPG, which re-encodes them.
Why do my photos still show the right way up?
The orientation flag is the one piece of metadata kept, so phones and computers keep displaying the photo upright.
Can I clean a whole batch?
Yes. Add many photos at once and download them all without metadata. They're processed in your browser and never uploaded.
