Counted with the browser's Performance API during the last job. It sees every request the page makes, but not what is inside them, so anything that is not a static download is counted above.

To check yourself: open DevTools → Network, clear the list, run the tool, and inspect each request. None will contain your file. You can also switch to offline after the page loads; tools whose engine is already downloaded keep working.

Specific jobsRemove location from photo

Share photos without your location and device details

Phone photos carry hidden EXIF data: the GPS coordinates where they were taken, the date and time, the phone model and sometimes the owner's name. Many social networks remove it on upload, but email attachments, cloud share links, “send as file” in chat apps and online marketplaces often keep it. Remove it before you share.

  • Selling items online without revealing your home address.
  • Sending photos to strangers, landlords or employers.
  • Publishing photos on a website or blog.

Removed without re-compressing

JPG, PNG and WebP files are rewritten section by section: EXIF (GPS, camera, dates), XMP, IPTC, comments and text chunks are dropped, while the image data is copied byte for byte, so quality is identical. Only the rotation flag is kept so photos still show the right way up. The colour profile is kept by default because it holds no personal data. HEIC and other formats are re-saved as a high-quality JPG.

What it can't remove

Metadata is only the hidden part. Anything visible in the picture, like a street sign, a house number, a reflection or a face, stays; use Blur image for those. The result lists the GPS position, camera and date it found, so you can see what was removed.

Remove photo metadata: questions

How do I remove the location from a photo?

Add the photo and press Remove metadata. GPS coordinates, camera details, dates and all other EXIF, XMP and IPTC data are removed.

Does removing EXIF reduce quality?

No. For JPG, PNG and WebP the image data is copied byte for byte; only the metadata sections are dropped. HEIC is re-saved as a high-quality JPG.

Will my photos still be the right way up?

Yes. The rotation flag is the one tag that's kept, so phone photos still display upright.

Do Instagram and Facebook already remove location?

Most big social networks strip it on upload, but email, cloud links, chat apps sending files, and many websites and marketplaces keep it. Remove it yourself to be sure.

Are my photos uploaded to check them?

No. Metadata is read and removed in your browser.
