Counted with the browser's Performance API during the last job. It sees every request the page makes, but not what is inside them, so anything that is not a static download is counted above.
To check yourself: open DevTools → Network, clear the list, run the tool, and inspect each request. None will contain your file. You can also switch to offline after the page loads; tools whose engine is already downloaded keep working.

Hide faces, number plates and personal details before you share
Photos often show more than you meant to share: bystanders' faces, children at school events, a car's number plate, a house number, or the account number on a screenshot. Blur image lets you cover those areas with a blur, pixel blocks or a solid black box, and the change is saved into the pixels of the new file.
- Blurring faces of strangers and children before posting.
- Hiding number plates, house numbers and street signs.
- Covering names, phone numbers, addresses and ID numbers on screenshots and documents.
Draw boxes, or let it find the faces
Drag on the photo to draw a box; drag a box to move it and its corner to resize. Find faces runs a face-detection model in your browser (about 3.7 MB, downloaded once) and adds a box over each face it finds, up to 12. Choose Blur for a soft look, Pixelate for blocks, or Black box for a solid cover. Strength sets how heavy the blur or blocks are.
- Blur: natural-looking, good for faces and backgrounds.
- Pixelate: the classic censor look.
- Black box: the only mode nobody can reverse; use it for text and numbers.
Use Black box for anything that must stay secret
Light blur and large pixel blocks over text can sometimes be partly reconstructed, so for passwords, card numbers and ID numbers choose Black box. Face detection can miss faces in profile, in shadow or very small; check every face and add boxes by hand where needed. JPG metadata (date, camera, GPS) is copied from the original unless you turn it off; use Remove photo metadata to clean it.
Blur image: questions
How do I blur a face in a photo?
Press Find faces to add a box over each face automatically, or drag on the photo to draw boxes yourself, then press Blur and save.
Can someone unblur my image?
The blur is saved into the pixels and the original detail isn't in the file. Light blur or pixelation over text can sometimes be partly guessed, though, so use Black box for passwords, card and ID numbers.
Is face detection done online?
No. The face model downloads once (about 3.7 MB) and runs in your browser; the photo is never uploaded.
What's the difference between blur and pixelate?
Blur softens the area smoothly; pixelate turns it into big square blocks. Both hide detail; strength controls how much.
Does it remove the photo's location data too?
No. JPG metadata is kept unless you turn off camera metadata. Use Remove photo metadata to strip GPS and camera details.
