Counted with the browser's Performance API during the last job. It sees every request the page makes, but not what is inside them, so anything that is not a static download is counted above.

To check yourself: open DevTools → Network, clear the list, run the tool, and inspect each request. None will contain your file. You can also switch to offline after the page loads; tools whose engine is already downloaded keep working.

Remove a date stamp, caption or small object from your own photo

Old family photos often carry an orange camera date in the corner, holiday shots have a stray bag or sign in them, and scans pick up dust and stains. This tool lets you paint over the unwanted part, then fills it from the surrounding picture with MI-GAN, an inpainting model. Use it on photos you own or have permission to edit; it isn't for stripping credits or watermarks from other people's images.

  • Erasing the date a camera printed into your own photos.
  • Removing a text overlay or logo you added to your own picture.
  • Taking a small object, stain, power line or passer-by out of a holiday photo.
  • Cleaning dust and scratches from scanned prints.

Paint, preview, download

Paint over what should go with the brush (6–160 px), a little past its edges, including any glow or shadow; the eraser and undo fix mistakes. Pinch or use Ctrl/⌘ + scroll to zoom, hold Space to pan, and hold the compare button to see the original. The preview is made at screen size; the download is filled at full resolution, up to 40 megapixels. Separate marks are filled one at a time, each from its own surroundings. The model is about 28 MB and downloads on first use. If it can't load, a simpler quick fill is used, which handles thin marks such as date stamps but not large areas.

  • Only painted pixels change; everything else keeps its original values.
  • PNG and WebP stay in their format; other photos are saved as high-quality JPG.

Where it works well and where it doesn't

Fills look most convincing on plain or repeating backgrounds: sky, walls, sand, grass and water. On fine texture such as foliage, fabric, brickwork or text, and for objects that cover a large share of the photo, the fill can look soft or smeared, because the model invents background rather than knowing what was there. Two smaller passes often beat one large one.

  • Zoom to 100% and check the edges of each filled area.
  • Look for a faint outline where a glow or shadow wasn't painted.
  • Keep the original file; the edit can't be reversed after download.

Remove watermark from photo: questions

Can I use this to remove watermarks from other people's photos?

No. Use it on photos you own or have permission to edit, such as your own pictures with a camera date stamp or a caption you added. Removing someone else's watermark or credit can break copyright law and their licence terms.

What does it remove best?

Small marks on plain or repeating backgrounds: date stamps, dust, small objects against sky, walls, sand or grass. Large objects in front of detailed scenes can leave soft or smeared patches.

A faint outline is left behind. Why?

Part of the mark, often its glow or shadow, wasn't painted. Paint a little past the edges and run it again.

Why does the first run take longer?

The MI-GAN model (about 28 MB) downloads once and your browser keeps it. If it can't load, a simpler quick fill is used, which works for thin marks but not large areas.

Does the rest of the photo change?

No. Only the painted pixels are replaced. JPG photos are re-saved once at high quality; PNG and WebP keep their format.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. Painting and filling happen in your browser; only the model is downloaded.
