Counted with the browser's Performance API during the last job. It sees every request the page makes, but not what is inside them, so anything that is not a static download is counted above.
To check yourself: open DevTools → Network, clear the list, run the tool, and inspect each request. None will contain your file. You can also switch to offline after the page loads; tools whose engine is already downloaded keep working.

Turn MOV, WebM and MKV into an MP4 that plays everywhere
MP4 with H.264 video is the format almost every phone, TV, editor, website and messaging app accepts. iPhone and camera videos are often MOV, screen recorders and browsers save WebM, and downloads come as MKV. Video to MP4 converts any of them so they open without extra software.
- MOV from an iPhone or camera that won't play on Windows or Android.
- WebM screen recordings for PowerPoint, Premiere or iMovie.
- MKV files for TVs, consoles and upload forms that only take MP4.
Copied when possible, re-encoded when needed
If the video is already H.264 (most MOV and many MKV files), it's copied into the MP4 container untouched: no quality loss, done in seconds. HEVC, VP9, AV1 and other codecs are re-encoded to H.264, with a bitrate based on the source so quality stays close. AAC and MP3 audio are copied; other audio becomes AAC at 160 kbps. Turn on Always re-encode if a device rejects the copied streams.
One video and one audio track
The MP4 keeps the main video and audio track. Extra audio languages and subtitle tracks from MKV files are not carried over. Re-encoding a long 4K HEVC video takes a while; keep the tab open. Files up to 2 GB work.
- Needs WebCodecs: current Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari 16.4+.
Video to MP4: questions
How do I convert MOV to MP4?
Add the MOV file and press Convert to MP4. If it's H.264 the video is copied into an MP4 in seconds with no quality loss; iPhone HEVC videos are re-encoded to H.264.
Will converting to MP4 lose quality?
Not when the video is already H.264: it's copied untouched. Other codecs are re-encoded at a bitrate based on the source, which keeps quality close to the original.
Is there a file size limit?
Files up to 2 GB work. The video is read from your disk in pieces, not uploaded.
Are subtitles kept?
No. The MP4 gets the main video and audio track; subtitle tracks and extra audio languages are not carried over.
