Counted with the browser's Performance API during the last job. It sees every request the page makes, but not what is inside them, so anything that is not a static download is counted above.
To check yourself: open DevTools → Network, clear the list, run the tool, and inspect each request. None will contain your file. You can also switch to offline after the page loads; tools whose engine is already downloaded keep working.

Make a photo black and white
Some forms ask for a black-and-white scan, and grayscale is also useful for print-ready documents, consistent-looking profile images, or checking the contrast of a design.
- Preparing a grayscale scan when a form requests one.
- Making document photos print cleanly on a mono printer.
- Giving a set of team photos a consistent look.
Neutral grayscale in one step
Colours are converted to neutral grey tones; brightness and contrast are not adjusted, so a dim photo stays dim. The same conversion is applied to every image in a batch, and pixel dimensions don't change.
- For a faint scan, a phone scanning app's document filter usually gives crisper black text than plain grayscale.
Grayscale isn't always smaller
The result is saved as PNG, which may be larger than a colour JPG. Coloured stamps or signatures can become faint once colour is removed; check them before submitting.
- Check coloured ink, stamps and highlights are still visible.
- Check faint pencil or light-blue ink, which can fade to near white.
Grayscale image: questions
Is grayscale the same as black and white?
Grayscale keeps all the shades of grey between black and white, which looks natural for photos and scans.
Will grayscale make my file smaller?
Not necessarily. The output is PNG, which can be larger than a colour JPG. Convert to JPG afterwards if size matters.
Can I undo grayscale later?
No, colour information is removed from the new file. Your original stays unchanged.
Can I convert several images to grayscale at once?
Yes. Add multiple images; each is converted separately.
