Counted with the browser's Performance API during the last job. It sees every request the page makes, but not what is inside them, so anything that is not a static download is counted above.

To check yourself: open DevTools → Network, clear the list, run the tool, and inspect each request. None will contain your file. You can also switch to offline after the page loads; tools whose engine is already downloaded keep working.

Check how many pages a PDF has, and their sizes

Print shops price by page, some portals cap the number of pages, and a merged submission should have exactly as many pages as its parts. Page Counter reports the total and the size of every page without opening the file in a reader. It reads the file's structure without rendering pages, so even long documents are counted quickly.

  • Confirming a merged file has all its pages before submitting.
  • Getting a page count for a print or translation quote.
  • Spotting a stray page with a different size, such as a Letter page in an A4 document.

The report lists each page's width and height in PDF points (1 point = 1/72 inch). A4 is about 595 × 842 points and US Letter is 612 × 792. Landscape pages show width larger than height.

Physical pages only

The count is the number of pages in the file, not the numbers printed on them. Password-protected or damaged PDFs can't be read.

How do I count pages in a PDF without opening it?

What does 595 × 842 mean?

Sizes are in PDF points (1/72 inch). 595 × 842 is A4 portrait; 612 × 792 is US Letter; if width is larger than height, the page is landscape.

Why does the count differ from the numbers printed on the pages?

This counts physical pages in the file, including covers and blank pages that may not be numbered.

Can it read password-protected PDFs?

No. Remove the password in your PDF reader first.
